Creating a Magma challenge in 4 steps: description, validation proof selection, targeted audience and notification setup

Engage your ambassadors with targeted challenges

Challenges are the engine of engagement on Magma. They allow you to mobilise your ambassadors on specific actions: share a post, attend an event, create a video testimonial, refer a candidate… Each challenge is linked to points that reward participation.

🎯 A good challenge is clear, time-limited and linked to a motivating reward. The best-performing challenges are those that give ambassadors a simple, concrete action to complete.

The 4 steps to create a challenge

1. General description

Give your challenge a compelling title and a clear description. Explain what the ambassador needs to do, why it matters, and how many points they can earn. Set start and end dates.

2. Select validation proofs

Choose how the ambassador will need to prove they completed the action: screenshot, URL link, photo, free text… You can combine multiple proof types depending on the challenge's complexity.

3. Select the audience

Decide who can see and participate in the challenge. You can target all your ambassadors or a specific segment using tags (by programme, campus, engagement level…).

4. Configure notifications

Set up email and SMS notifications to inform your ambassadors about the challenge launch and send reminders before the deadline.

Tip: start with simple challenges (share a post, respond to a survey) to get your ambassadors familiar with the mechanism, then gradually increase complexity.
