Magma ambassador segmentation by tags: custom segments to target challenges, rewards and communications by group

Why segment your ambassador community?

Not all your ambassadors are the same. Some are highly active, others respond occasionally, they may be in different locations or have purchased different products. To maximise the impact of your actions, you need to send the right message to the right person at the right time. That's exactly what tag-based segmentation in Magma allows you to do.

🎯 Segmentation is one of the most powerful levers for improving community engagement. Institutions that segment their ambassadors see significantly higher participation rates on their challenges.

How do tags work?

Tags are labels you assign to your ambassadors to categorise them. You can create as many tags as needed and combine them to create fine-grained segments.

Common tag examples:

Creating and managing your tags

From your Magma dashboard, go to the community section to manage your tags:

Sending targeted challenges to a segment

One of the most powerful uses of tags is the ability to send challenges only to a specific segment. For example:

Tip: start by creating 3 to 5 essential tags that match your main segments. You can always refine later. Too many tags from the start can complicate management.

Customising rewards by segment

Tags also allow you to offer different rewards based on segments. An alumni ambassador won't have the same motivations as a current customer. Adapt your rewards catalogue to maximise the engagement of each group.
